Information for Students
Are you a high school sophomore ready to discover your unique potential and make a meaningful difference in Georgia? HOBY Georgia is for you!
Our transformative leadership programs embrace your individuality and develop the skills needed to become an effective leader in our state and beyond. HOBY programs are where personal growth meets unforgettable fun!
Who Attends Our Seminar?
Outstanding rising high school juniors from across Georgia join our three-day leadership seminar each summer. Nominated by their schools and communities, these students become HOBY Ambassadors.
Hosted on a college campus, our program gives students a taste of college life while developing their leadership skills through interactive workshops and group activities. Ambassadors discover their strengths, clarify their values, and learn to work with diverse talents.
Students attend HOBY Georgia to grow as leaders and connect with peers from across the state. They gain practical leadership skills and build relationships that last well beyond the seminar.
HOBY Youth Leadership Georgia helps young people make positive impacts in their communities. In just one weekend, students develop the confidence to create real change. At HOBY, you become part of something bigger—a network of young leaders committed to improving our world.
How to Attend HOBY
-
How to Get Your School Involved
We are proud of our partnerships with public and private schools across the state, and the majority of students attend our seminar after being nominated by their schools. If you’re not sure about your school’s involvement with HOBY, check with your sophomore counselor or administrator -they are often our main point of contact! If your school contact doesn’t know about HOBY, reach out to hobygeorgiarecruiting@gmail.com to let us know!
-
How to Attend if Your School Isn't Involved
Is your school not able to participate in HOBY? Do you attend a home or virtual school? Our Community Nominations process welcomes students outside the traditional schooling system. Community members, HOBY alumni and volunteers, and parents/guardians are eligible to nominate students for HOBY.

How to Attend World Leadership Congress
The WLC is open to students aged 15-17. In order to welcome students from around the world, the WLC does not require a nomination to attend. Students are also welcome to participate even if they have not attended any other HOBY programs.
